Bernie Becker of Bernie Becker Mastering gave my collection a beautiful finish. Now, I edited the collection at home. During the mixdown at McCoy a number of my editing sins really began to emerge. Ron McCoy worked heroically to minimize the problems, and then Bernie Becker made them totally disappear!
Bernie also works as Neil Diamond's engineer, and of course he masters all of his recordings - I could hardly be in better company.
Self-producing musicians have a tendency to try to do the mastering themselves or not master at all. This is a huge mistake. As beautiful as Ron McCoy's mixes were, he'd agree that Bernie took this project to a whole other level. I can hardly recommend Bernie's services enough.
